I am pleased to say that geo mapping and geotargetting have been added to the campsite directory this weekend. This new function allows you to type in a postcode or address and and get the driving or walking directions.
You can use this to plot your journey or find nearby locations. Alongside this there is also "street view" meaning that in some instances you can see photogrpaphs of the area, depending upon if Google has photographed the area. |

A giant 27ft totem pole hand-carved over the last two years by hundreds of visitors to the New Forest has now taken pride of place at Sandy Balls Holiday Centre. In celebration of the award-winning centre’s 90th birthday, the 2.5 tonne pole was carefully craned into position alongside The Old Oak – one of the oldest trees at Sandy Balls.
The colourful totem pole, which overlooks the central piazza, is a fantastic 360-degree piece of art. The symbols which include animals, woodland scenes and log cabins were carved by children, guests, staff and neighbours and tell the story of Sandy Balls’ 90-year history.
The transformation from Scots Pine to totem pole was the brainchild of Sandy Balls’ managing director, Tim Howell and director Lynden Bowen – great granddaughter of Sandy Balls' founder Ernest Westlake and wife of Clive who designed and supervised the carving. |

Bailey of Bristol has committed to a further investment of £1 million to commission a third new laminating line following the recent surge in demand for its touring caravans. Annual retail sales volumes are currently running 20% ahead of the equivalent period last year and following the positive public reaction to the ground-breaking new Pegasus range this situation looks set to continue for some time to come.As a result the company has recorded its best ever year in terms of retail orders taken and has therefore taken the decision to invest in additional capital equipment to help sustain this growth. |

Swift Group may be working flat out on its latest models for 2010 but a little corner of their giant plant is devoted to a very special project – the restoration of three classic caravans.
Chairman, Peter Smith has owned the classics for some years but with the Eccles celebrating its 90th birthday in 2009, it seemed a good time to get the restoration project off the ground. |

A successful bid to woo back red squirrels to a Lakeland holiday park has drawn congratulations from The Prince of Wales - and led to its being highlighted as a national role model for championing the reds' return.
Prince Charles' praise for Skelwith Fold Caravan Park in Ambleside came after he heard that red squirrels had once again established colonies in the grounds after a two-year battle by the business. |
